What is a virtual bookstore?
5 to 9 Books does not have a physical location and instead conducts all of its business virtually. We sell print and audiobooks through affiliate links with Libro.fm and Bookshop.org and host virtual workshops and author events.
What kind of books do you sell?
5to9books.com has curated lists with recommendations for lovers of the outdoors, crafts, writing, self-care, and more. While you can purchase any book through our affiliate links, our focus is (mostly) nonfiction how-tos, guides, and reference books to help you discover new hobbies and passions outside of work hours.
When will you sell ebooks?
As soon as Bookshop.org and/or Libro.fm add ebooks to their business model we’ll be selling them! Hang tight, they’re working on it. In the meantime… can we interest you in a paperback, hardcover, or audiobook?
Why focus on nonfiction guides?
In a world where free time is scarce and productivity is compulsory, 5 to 9 believes in the value of simple pleasures and carefree enjoyment. We believe that books can serve as accessible introductions to activities, hobbies, projects, and passions that bring joy and purpose to our lives outside a career.
Will you sell my book?
Right now we’re a one-person team working on curating specific lists with inclusive, non-problematic authors, publishers, books, and topics. If you have a nonfiction book that promotes an activity, hobby, or self-care, then feel free to reach out and we’ll let you know if it’s a good fit!
Can I talk to you about an event for my book?
If you see your book promoted on our website or social media or have already talked to us about carrying it, feel free to let us know that you are open to participating in a virtual author workshop/event. We’re looking to host one a month through Instagram Live and will include recordings on our website.
I have a problem with my order, who should I contact?
Because we’re a virtual bookstore selling through affiliate accounts, we are not responsible for shipping and processing payments. If there is an issue with your order, please reach out to Bookshop.org, Libro.fm, or Bonfire and they will sort it out quickly. If you’re having trouble figuring out who to reach out to, you can email us and we will give you the correct contact.

What’s with all the bees?
Great question… We just really like bees. When looking for respite and distraction outside of work hours, I found great joy in planting a pollinator garden and raising solitary bees in my backyard. Those leafcutter bees inspired this whole venture and so bees can regularly be seen around our website and social media.
